14 October 2011 - Brussels The Madariaga-College of Europe Foundation recently interviewed Christian Saint-Etienne, Chair Professor of Industrial Economics at the Conservatoire national des Arts et Métiers, Paris, on whether the eurozone can definitively preserve its 17 economies from speculation on their sovereign debt, how it can it get out of debt and return to growth and what are the necessary and feasible institutional changes to provide the eurozone with a real political underpinning. 26 September 2011 - BrusselsThe Madariaga-College of Europe Foundation sat down with Martin Jacques, author of "When China Rules the World: the Rise of the Middle Kingdom and the End of the Western World", for an exclusive interview on China's rise and its impact on the Western world. In the interview Jacques spoke about China's own distinctive model of development, the challenge posed by China's rise to Western ways of thinking and behaviour and the relationship between China and the European Union in the wake of the eurozone debt crisis.
